The opposite of Eating Glass...

There is almost nothing better than an outdoor concert, on a beautiful day, filled with amazing musicians. The Broken Social Scene Olympic Island concert was nothing short of brilliant. I've fallen in love with the Bloc Party, and have renewed my love of Feist... well her music at least (her on-stage banter was a bit... kooky)

Let me start from the beginning:

Sarah and I met up at the ferry docks around 11:45... The line-up was unbelievable. It turned out that the Dragonboat races were scheduled for the same day. Luckily for us, Sarah noticed a VIP entrance that had next to no line-up. We snuck our way in there and ended up on the next ferry to Center Island.

We get to the island and find the entrance to the concert; we wait for about 45 minutes for them to open up the gates. This would have been upsetting if it weren't for the fabulous tunes floating our way from the bands' soundcheck. The only thing that got on our nerves was the group of abnormally large friends who thought it would be fun to talk non-stop and loudly about how grumpy they were getting, and how grumpy they would be if the bands that they didn't come to see weren't good.

*side note: I hate people like that; people who love to be pissed off. I mean, COME ON! It was the most beautiful day of the summer... you're on Toronto Island (the urban oasis), and you're going to see a band that you love at a sold out concert! SUCK IT UP!!!

So when the doors opened we ran to get a good set-up going. We decided to sit right in front of the sound booth. A brilliant plan by Sarah, because it basically meant that as the crowd got larger, no one would bother us. We were set! Then the music started, and the following pictures were taken:
