I'm Prosit (cheers)

It's been a while folks, mostly because I haven't felt that inspired to pour myself onto the computer screen. It's funny how this blog thing can become an obsession; and obsessions usually make me skittish. So skittish, in fact, that I think I just needed a little time away from it. Time to start living my life for a bit without thinking about how it would best fit into my little piece of the blogosphere. But alas I am back... the need for an outlet as fun as this one is too hard to bear. On to the fun...

The saying above is the theme song title for this past weekend. Kitchener... Oktoberfest... I really needn't say more... but as some of you are in far off recesses of the world; I’ll explain. Oktoberfest is one of the biggest parties of the year. Odd, because it's in a city 1.5 hours away from Ontario's epicenter: Toronto (I say that with much sarcasm). This has been my second year attending the festivities. Even though I don't have a drop of German blood in me, I'll probably be attending the festival as long as my body can take me there.

What could be more fun than drinking beer served by people in Lederhosen, with some really good old and new friends, in a German hall? Oh yes... being stopped every half hour or so to sing the Anthem: ßiga ßaga ßiga ßaga OY OY OY!!!! Damn good time I tell you. By the end of the night our group had so many pitchers that we couldn't finish them all. I ended up pouring drinks for people I didn't know just so we wouldn't waste "my precious". The highlight of the night was when the band played Big & Rich's song Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy). We danced and rode our imaginary cowboys until the cows came home!

So to my German brothers and sisters (Lauren, Mark, Amy, Ian, Kim, Allan, Court, and Mike) Ich hatte viel Spaß! Bis nächst Zeit.
